This weekly challenge is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. All you need to do to participate is to answer these three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What have you recently finished reading?
- What will you be reading next?
This post features links to the mentioned books on Amazon. If you choose to buy one by clicking on my links, I’ll get a small commission at no extra cost to yourself. Thank you!
What I’m currently reading
I’m about halfway through Stephen King’s ‘If It Bleeds’ – I’m really enjoying it, but deadlines and my own writing have been getting in the way. It’s a collection of novellas though, so that’s okay! I’m starting to read an ARC of ‘The Magician’ by Colm Toibin tonight. I was attracted to it because, even though I’ve never read anything by this author, I’ve heard others raving about ‘Brooklyn’.

What I recently finished reading
I absolutely loved ‘The Man Who Died Twice’, which is the second of Richard Osman’s ‘Thursday Murder Club’ novels. You can read my review here. A really nice surprise this week was a new YA sci-fi novel, ‘The Upper World’ (review to follow). Unfortunately, I really didn’t get on with the latest Lemony Snicket, ‘Poison for Breakfast’, but at least it was short!

What I’ll be reading next
I’ve got about ten books lined up on my NetGalley shelf at the moment, and that makes me feel a little queasy, so I’d like to get a few more of them read before I request too many more. The next one to be review is ‘Bewilderment’ by Richard Powers. At the start of the summer break from school, ‘The Honeymoon’ by Tina Seskis was at the top of my TBR list – it’s still there! I’ve also treated myself to a few MG books recently, but my daughter insists that I make the time to read ‘Gaslight’ by Eloise Williams first, which is one of her favourites.

Have a great week of reading, everyone!
