This weekly challenge is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. All you need to do to participate is to answer these three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What have you recently finished reading?
- What will you be reading next?
This post features links to the mentioned books on Amazon. If you choose to buy one by clicking on my links, I’ll get a small commission at no extra cost to yourself. Thank you!
What I’m currently reading
I’m reading a bit of a mixed bag this week. ‘Mexican Gothic’ by Silvia Moreno-Garcia has been on my TBR list for forever after being recommended by so many fellow book bloggers, a friend recommended ‘A Hidden Fire’ by Elizabeth Hunter as a nice little holiday vampire read, and then just for a contrast, I’m also reading ‘Talking with Female Serial Killers’ by Christopher Berry-Dee. Rather an eclectic mix that I make no apologies for!

What I’ve just finished reading
I really loved listening to ‘Malibu Rising’ – the third book by Taylor Jenkins Reid that I’ve enjoyed this year. I’ve also just finished ‘The Department of Rare Books and Special Collections’ by Eva Jurczyk. My review is here.
What I’ll be reading next
I’ve got two weeks off from work and I’m trying to read through some of my TBR pile. I’m trying really hard not to add any more books for a while as I have quite a backlog to clear!
Next on the list are ‘Nobody But Us’ by Laure Van Rensburg, ‘The Last House on the Street’ by Diane Chamberlain, ‘The Girl Upstairs’ by Georgina Lees, and ‘All For You’ by Louise Jensen. They are all ARCs from NetGalley and I’m looking for suggestions about which one to read first.

How about Nobody but Us. Lauren (or L) as she styles herself, is on the Jericho Writers site that I belong to (it’s all online) and she gives such great advice to aspiring writers that I think she must be a really kind and deep thinking person. Hence, I imagine her book would be equally giving and interesting. I also think the cover looks wonderful.

Talking With Female Serial Killers sounds like a fascinating book. I am going to have to add it to my TBR.

I’ve been listening to a podcast that basically talks about real life crime documentaries, so thought I’d try this. If I’m honest, it’s a bit melodramatic so far – I think that the author enjoys talking to these women a little too much!

Rather slow for the first half, then it all went rather odd. Mexican Gothic is a very accurate title!
