A really interesting prompt for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I Haven’t Read, But Want To. Oh, where to begin?!
According to a survey conducted for Literary Hub, prolific writer Emily Temple found out that at the age of 25, a super reader, a rockstar bookworm who can comfortably go through 80 books a year, with a long life expectancy will finish somewhere around 4,560-4,880 books before they die.https://basmo.app/how-many-books-does-the-average-person-read/
One of the interesting problems with engaging with readers on their blogs and ‘Book Twitter’, is that so many people are reading so many books. Lots of them sound fantastic, and it’s sometimes daunting to realise that I am never, ever going to have the time to read all of them, even if I live a long, long life. There are, however, some authors who I have every intention to read at some point.
In no particular order, here are my top ten:
- Fodor Dostoevsky – now read ‘Crime and Punishment’
- James Patterson
- Karin Slaughter
- Val McDermid
- Harlan Coben – now read ‘The Woods’
- Dean Koontz
- Ayn Rand
- Lee Child
- John Green
- Chuck Palahniuk
Have you read anything by any of these authors? Which books by these authors would you recommend?
