WWW Wednesday – Wednesday, 2nd June 2021

This weekly challenge is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.  All you need to do to participate is to answer these three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What will you be reading next?

What I’m currently reading

I’m enjoying a much more productive week for reading this week. I’ve enjoyed a competition win, mini-break to Northumberland with my husband and the Cockerpoo so far. I’ve nearly finished an ARC of ‘The Secret Detectives’ by Ella Risbridger (middle grade, closed room – or closed ship – murder mystery) and an ARC audiobook of ‘Outbreak’ by Frank Gardner.

What I recently finished reading

I’ve finally managed to get some books finished off this week now that I’m off school for half-term. My daughter and I finished listening to ‘The Grave Digger’ by Rebecca Bischoff, I finished listening to ‘Sheltering Rain’ by Jojo Moyes (themes of horse riding, generations and romance), and I finished reading an ARC of ‘The First Day of Spring’ (not quite sure if it’s a psychological thriller, domestic murder, or the dreaded ‘women’s literature’, but I enjoyed it). Reviews to follow.

What I’ll be reading next

I’m not absolutely sure what I fancy reading next. I’m got a few Kindle First Reads ready to download, quite a few ARCs from NetGalley, and the usual stack of paperbacks, but I’m going to keep my options open for next week. It may well depend what the weather’s like!

I keep saying that I’m going to read ‘A History of Loneliness’ by John Boyle next, but every time I pick it up, I don’t fancy it anymore, so I’m going to shelve that one for a while.

I’d love to hear from you if you’ve read any of these or fancy doing a Buddy Read with me over the next few weeks.
